Nate and I's day started out with a flat white from Vudu Cafe and Larder in town. Such a great coffee shop with so much character and a great menu. We ended up getting our coffee's to go and and heading out the back door that opens up right to the wharf and Lake Wakatipu. There's a walking path with buskers serenading us the whole way through.. well until we spotted a sale on at Patigonia and made a quick exit into the warm store to browse.
After walking through town bit more and finishing out coffees we stopped here at Eichardts Hotel and Bar. Such a charming little bar with only a few tables, crossing my fingers we were sat directly in front of the fire place! (Yes! I couldn't feel my toes anymore so this was perfect!). We ordered wine and several tapas to share and spent the afternoon just chatting about life and dreams and a Nicolas sparks movie Nate had watched the night before (and how he hadn't every minute of it! ha).
We had finished lunch but I was craving another warm drink and dessert so we thought why not both?! Our next stop was just a few blocks over at Koko Black Chocolate Salon. We each ordered a cup of signature hot chocolate and grabbed a few truffles to go before we left.
I am still taken back every time we get up in the morning and see THIS out our window. Queenstown has won my heart and Nate and I hope to make coming here each winter a new tradition.
